About Little Nuggets Nutrition

Hi! My name is Kirsty, a paediatric dietitian registered with Dietitian’s Australia. I support families with everything from simple feeding worries to complex eating and nutrition challenges — always with compassion, curiosity, and zero judgement.

Most of the families I work with have children who are neurodivergent, including autism, ADHD, PDA, and sensory processing differences. I understand that eating can feel especially complicated when the world (and food!) feels overwhelming, unpredictable, or unsafe.

At Little Nuggets Nutrition, your child is never seen as “fussy”, “difficult”, or “behind”. Your child’s eating makes sense — and so do you.

Why Little Nuggets?

The name Little Nuggets Nutrition came from something parents said to me again and again — that they were scared or embarrassed to admit their child “only eats nuggets”.

The truth? Many children don’t even accept nuggets, despite them being famously labelled as “child-friendly”. And even if nuggets are a safe food — that’s okay.

My role isn’t to take foods away or rush children towards eating new foods. Instead, we focus on building safety with food and eating, first. This is critical. When a child feels safe, regulated, and understood, eating becomes easier — sometimes in small steps, sometimes in big leaps, and sometimes simply in finding peace where things are.

Even if we never get to new foods, and instead support your child to eat with more ease, less stress, and adequate nourishment — that still matters. That still counts. And that is still success.

Together, we get creative, realistic, and deeply respectful of your child’s unique needs — supporting nourishment and a positive relationship with food, for the long term.

What it’s like to work together…

My approach is neuro-affirming and trauma-informed, which means

  • Your child is not pushed, tricked, bribed, or pressured to eat

  • We move at your child’s pace, not a checklist or timeline

  • Your child’s body cues, sensory needs, and nervous system come first

  • You and your child are met with respect, warmth, and understanding

In practice, this feels calm, validating, and supportive.

  • Parents often tell me it’s a relief to finally exhale — to work with someone who gets it, who listens without judgement, and who understands that feeding is about so much more than nutrients on a plate.

I know how deeply important your child’s eating, growth, nutrition, and relationship with food are.

I also know this: you are the expert on your child, and every parent is doing the very best they can with the information, energy, and support they have.
